About Susan DiFelice

(Pronounced Dee fa lease)

Susan DiFelice is an artist, illustrator, and designer whose work is rooted in a lifelong love of horses and the North Carolina coast. Through original paintings, illustrations, and thoughtfully designed creative projects, she explores the beauty, movement, and stories found in equestrian life and coastal adventures.

A graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts, Susan has spent more than two decades building a career that bridges traditional art and digital media. Her illustration work has appeared in books, magazines, educational resources, and equestrian publications, while her original paintings celebrate the landscapes, wildlife, and horses that continue to inspire her.

Susan is the founder of The Pony Island, an award-winning educational platform that introduces children to the world of horses through illustration, interactive learning, and creative play.

She also founded Allpony, an equestrian website that was later acquired by the United States Pony Clubs.

Her work has been recognized by the American Horse Publications Equine Media Awards, earning First Place in the Equine-Related Website category for The Pony Island, along with previous awards for Editorial Illustration and Website Design.

Today, Susan divides her time between creating original fine art, developing illustrations, and pursuing collaborations that combine art, education, and storytelling. Whether painting a horse portrait or a coastal seascape, her goal is to create artwork that invites viewers to slow down, connect with nature, and experience the places and animals that have shaped her life.
