The Pony Island Featured in Sidelines Magazine
I’m honored to share that The Pony Island was recently featured in the Women Entrepreneur issue of Sidelines Magazine 🐴
The article touches on the journey from Allpony to building The Pony Island, and the idea behind creating a different kind of learning space for horse-loving kids.

Building a Different Kind of Horse Learning Platform
The Pony Island was created to help kids connect with horses through creativity, curiosity, and real horsemanship education.
Some children ride every week.
Some are just beginning.
Some don’t yet have access to a barn at all.
The goal has always been to create a place where all horse-loving kids can continue learning and growing—whether they’re at the barn, at home, or somewhere in between.
An Illustrated World of Horse Learning
Illustration has always been at the heart of the project.
Every part of The Pony Island is built around my original equestrian illustrations designed to make horse learning feel approachable, engaging, and memorable for kids.
The illustrations appear throughout:
- the courses
- interactive learning games
- quizzes and activities
- educational printables
- pony badges and rewards
- the matching downloadable learning packs
Many of the printables are designed to work directly alongside the courses, allowing kids to continue learning away from the screen through hands-on activities, visual guides, posters, and games.
The goal is not just to present information, but to create an immersive visual learning experience that helps kids truly connect with what they are learning.
Learning Beyond Riding
One of the biggest ideas behind The Pony Island is that horsemanship is about more than riding lessons alone.
Kids can explore:
- horse behavior and communication
- barn safety
- horse breeds and anatomy
- games and interactive activities
- printables and creative learning
- books and horse-inspired education
The platform is designed to help kids build confidence and understanding step by step in a way that feels approachable and fun.

Designed Around Different Horse Journeys
Every child connects with horses differently, which is why The Pony Island includes different Pony Paths designed around real-life experiences—from lesson kids and pony owners to homeschoolers and horse lovers learning from home.
The idea is not simply to teach facts about horses, but to encourage thoughtful, curious, horse-centered learning.
Looking Ahead
It has been exciting to watch The Pony Island continue to grow with new courses, games, printables, and learning experiences being added regularly.
I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported the project so far, and thankful to Sidelines Magazine for featuring The Pony Island in this issue.
